It typically covers core networking concepts such as network architectures, routing and switching, IP addressing, network protocols, security fundamentals, and basic network administration. The certification is aimed at students, entry-level professionals, and IT practitioners who want to build a strong foundation in networking and demonstrate their technical competence to employers.

About Network Engineer

A Network Engineer is an individual that is responsible for the maintenance of computer hardware and software systems that make up a computer network including the maintenance and monitoring of active data network or converged infrastructure and related network equipment.

Network Engineers are generally mid-level support staff within an organization and do not typically get involved directly with users. Network Engineers focus upon network components within a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure ensuring integrity. Depending on the company and its size, the Network Engineer may also design and deploy networks.

Network engineers are responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting computer communication networks within an organisation or between organisations. Their goal is to ensure the smooth operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability for their users, such as staff, clients, customers and suppliers.

Network engineers may work internally as part of an organisation’s IT support team or externally as part of an IT networking consultancy firm working with a number of clients.

Other job titles used to refer to this kind of work include network support, support engineer, IT support engineer, helpdesk support, network administrator, first-line support, second-line support, and security engineer and network architect.

The study of networking includes the network fundamentals, network elements, applications, content etc. that make up the service-enabling technologies. The Network Engineering will give students an understanding of the full range of modern communication technologies, network protocols and middleware required for modern networks. It will equip them with the expertise to design, build, configure and test modern networks and networked services.

The exponential growth in networks in recent years has totally changed the way we work and play. We now demand instant communication with anyone via voice, text and video and immediate access to all kinds of information and services. The networks that make this possible involve a wide range of engineering challenges.

E-Course Duration: 20 to 25 Hours

Course Outline

Module 1 – Information Networks

Basic Terms

Advanced Terms

Networking Basics

Basic Internet Concepts

Internet Security

Module 2 – Applications

Computers in the Workplace

Tele-Commuting

The Electronic World

Ergonomics

Safety and the Environment

Module 3 – Security

Being Proactive

Identifying Yourself

Protecting your Data

Understanding Malware

Protecting Against Malware

Target Audience

Small-to-Medium Business Network Engineers

Networking professionals employed at corporations and government organization

candidates who want to seek a new career in Network Engineer.

Exam Code: CNE-001 The Certified Network Engineer (CNE)™ certification is a professional credential designed to validate an individual’s knowledge and skills in designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting computer networks.
